Summer holidays need to be extended in England and the south east . Our children are exhausted in mostly 30 degree temperatures at the end of July and cannot connect with family and friends of Scotland Europe , private schools (independent) who all finish a month before us. Why is this ? Alot of mothers fathers teachers ect feel the same and I feel very strongly that there needs to be change in education. holidays need to be taken for children to take a break recouperate and spend time with family. For instance all our family are from Dublin and we don't have much time to see them so the summer is our go to spend time with them however by the time we break up which is last week in July , they have been off a full month and we go back end of August so they have 8 weeks off but this is especially good for the weather too as summer is officially June July August. Parents haven't got money to spend for rainy usually August to keep children entertained and I feel  with rising inflation it will get harder. Wimbledon weeks and end of June is always lovely weather and not much rain and is typical time to spend time camping ect which is less expensive to summer holidays abroad. Everyone in education is tired and the last 2 weeks my children always do the same thing and not alot of learning is done in heatwaves ! Children teachers are frazzled and need to be off end of June! I want to spend valuable time with my family isntead of taking time out of school which is happening more and more these days as people cannot afford to take their children in holiday in August at peak prices so if they had more of a summer they would have more flexibility and be less anxoety for children. They finish their exams too end of June so year 11 children will end school with the other years feelingl it is unfair year 11 leave and they don't and still have another 4 weeks of school to attend in hot climates , frazzled teachers and parents and grandparents and all carers.
