ROAD CROSSINGS NEEDED - Safety for our children on Long Road, Lowestoft, Suffolk.

I have recently moved from London to Lowestoft and I was surprised to find out that Long Road, which is the main road Westwood Primary School children have to cross daily has no safety crossings in place, not even a lollipop person in sight.
As a mum and a driver, my concerns are that this road has no signs or restrictions in place where the children cross by Aldwyke way and further down by Westwood Avenue. There is a blind bend at the bottom of Denton Drive, which is over grown with trees and no visibility for drivers if children are crossing.
A young reception pupil from Westwood Primary School got knocked down three weeks ago, luckily she is OK, but one day there will be a fatality.
Drivers use this road as a cut through as it saves them waiting for the lights on Tom Crisp way, and not all stick to the 30mph speed limit.
I have contacted Suffolk highways and transport and have put in a request for two crossings either traffic lights or a zebra.
Ref Number 206223.
However, they have advise us as a community to get as much support needed, so I have set up this online petition, the more signatures we get the better chance of getting these safety crossings in place and a piece of mind that our children can cross this road safely.
Thank you taking the time to read and sign.
