Stop Using Eggs From Cruel Cage Farms

Subway proudly boasts about its sourcing, claiming they “believe that safe food comes from healthy animals that are well cared for.” Despite this statement, Subway continues to source nearly 90% of its eggs from farms that intensively confine hens in cages for virtually their entire lives.
Subway buys from farms that pack egg-laying hens so tightly into wire cages that they can’t even stretch out a single wing. Each hen is forced to live on a space roughly the size of an iPad and most will never see sunlight or breath fresh air for virtually their entire lives. These cages are so cruel that their use is criminalized in countries all over the world and in several US states.
Virtually every other major restaurant chain—including Burger King, Taco Bell, Panera Bread, Starbucks, Dunkin’ Donuts, Jack In The Box, Chipotle, and others—has made commitments with timelines to go 100% cage-free. Even McDonald’s has made a commitment to completely phase out cages from its supply chain.
Please, sign our petition and let Subway know that you do not want to be supporting this kind of extreme animal cruelty with your dining dollars. It's time for Subway to join its competitors and the 21st century by producing a timeline to exclusively source eggs from cage-free farms.
