Studypool is a website that provides valuable instruction in a micro-tutoring format. Thousands of tutors from all across the world provide solutions and help to millions of students. However, the company “Studypool” has developed an unfair and hostile working environment for its tutors. Not only do tutors already pay a commission fee (which is significantly larger for tutors who reside in black and brown majority countries), but they take a whopping 40 percent of all TIPS. That’s right, Studypool takes 40% of the tips tutors receive from the students. 

This petition calls, at the very least, for a dialogue about the issue in the hopes that Studypool executives will recognize this injustice and allow tutors to benefit from the high-quality work they provide. A tip is a gesture that the student offers to let the tutor know that they did an outstanding job and went above and beyond to meet their needs. Studypool already benefits from the heightened commissions of each question and double down by taking nearly half of all tips acquired.

Direct communication with the company has proved to be a fruitless endeavor as the company rarely responds to correspondence. As such, the purpose of this petition is to place pressure on the company to do what is right and allow tutors to benefit from tips they rightfully earned.
