Since we are reading Romeo and Juliet in our English Class, it is only fair that we watch a movie adaptation to further our education on the topic. The best option for this is the film Gnoneo and Juliet. It's short, appropriate for school, and fits into the curriculum. The class could compare the balcony scene from the play to the adaptation, and discuss themes. Shakespeare can be hard to grasp, and by using a masterpiece of an adaptation it can help achieve a better understanding of the themes in Romeo and Juliet. It also offers a comical way of furthering our understanding of Shakespeare and his plays and that the student body would most likely be receptive to the idea. Another key factor is that all of our exams are over so we don't really have anything left to prepare for.
