In light of recent events it has come to the attention of the student body as well as many members of the community that Mrs. York, the principal of David Prouty High School is not fit to run it. There has been numerous occasions where she’s discriminated against student simply for past actions or unjust comments. Mrs York is known for specifically targeting students and going out of her way to hold authority, even if it means getting kids in trouble for nothing. there is not one student or adult that i’ve heard say a single good thing about her. School should be a place we all feel comfortable and safe however she’s created a hostile, bitter and unwelcoming environment. she causes stress, unneeded anxiety and makes us focus on wondering if we’re doing something wrong rather than our school work and academics. Kids feel targeted and threatened by her. a good principal doesn’t run off fear, they actually try to make a difference and listen to the voices of their student body.
