COVID-19 is responsible for the death of many people. It is a serious illness that has been spreading around the world like wild fire.  Governor Phil Murphy has already closed New Jersey's public schools for the rest of the academic year because of this virus. Why should we college students risk ourselves and be any different? Unlike children, we adult students already have to expose ourselves constantly on a daily basis. Many of us go out wearing a mask all day long to go to work, go food shopping, etc., because it is a necessity. Now why should we also go to class, wear our masks for more hours of the day and expose not just ourselves but expose our families, classmates and NJCU staff as well? If NJCU has the option to have online classes let’s take that opportunity! I understand that many of us students are not fond of online classes and some professors are not tech savvy but let’s make the effort together. It is always better to be safe than sorry. Many schools have opened only to close again after the virus spread. Come on! let’s not wait until one of us gets COVID-19 to stop classes from being in held in person. If our state governor thinks that it is not safe for people to be in a classroom just yet than we should stand together to keep ourselves and our families safe.
