Please make YK a day of rest - It should not be difficult to find another day to balance the academic calendar

My daughter attends AU. We are Jewish, and each year she has to tell her teachers she needs to make up her work (sometimes she’s missing a test day) when they hold class on Rosh Hashanah or Tom Kippur. Respect our holy holidays! No instruction or homework during these sacred days.

Jewish faith deserves just as much respect as christian faith.

I am Jewish and an AU student, this Yom Kippur I was fasting and attended all my class. Of course I could have emailed my professors and said I had a religious obligation but the missing a class and missing important information is not an option for a time like this.

au admin is classist, racist, and only cares about christian holidays, this should’ve been done a long time ago

Yom Kippur should be honored as it is a High Holiday and many AU students are Jewish.

I'm signing because my son is a Jewish student at AU and Yom Kippur is the holiest day of the year for us. It should be respected by the entire community.
