Online school has been a strange difficult change for everyone. I feel like the results would be an inaccurate representation of our student's potential given the circumstances we're in. Many schools did not make the EOG mandatory last school year so I'm struggling to see how it would be any different this year. Most schools would have students go in person to do the EOG to prevent cheating, however this could put a threat to those with compromised immune systems and it would be extremely unsafe. I and many other students believe it would be best to cancel the EOGs and other tests similar to it this year and continue them once we go back in person. I had the idea to make this when a fellow student (Ava Macaluso who attends West Lake MS) and I were talking on the phone and we both felt compelled to speak out about this issue. We urge school systems to look into this.
