It has been nearly 2 long years to the date, that COVID struck the US hard and we were all sent home to take online classes. Since then, we have withstood two variants of the disease. But now, it is time to return to normalcy. New COVID cases within the county have dwindled to, reportedly, less than two new cases per day. With Wells College being such a small isolated campus in Aurora New York, there is no need to wear these masks inside of buildings any longer. The possibility for potential exposure is minuscule. With nearly 95% of the students being fully vaccinated masks are no longer necessary. The newly appointed governor of New York, Governor Hochul, lifted the mask mandate in public schools, today, March 2nd. Join me in signing this petition to make it be known the we, as a collective student body, do not feel we need should be forced to wear masks.
