For many years, students enjoyed the permitted use of their personal devices at school. Whether it's Macbooks, Ipads, or even Microsoft tablets- it's common to see poeple invest in their education. Students don't invest without reason, as these devices are quicker and usually more efficent than the school-issued chromebooks. The rise of cybersecurity threats had forced the district to implement a ban on the use of those personal devices. However, it has been three months since those threats were posed, and it feels as if the school and its information are no longer in danger. Nevertheless, the school has not lifted the ban, meaning students are unwillingly using these chromebooks when it really is unnecessary. Other school districts, in proximity to Wheatley, have not banned the use of personal devices, allowing their students to use them in class. With your help, we can too. With the mask mandate being lifted, I feel that this could be a period of change, where the students of wheatley could restore previous culture- which was more enjoyable. Through signing this petition, you're allowing students to finally enjoy the allowed use of personal devices in class again!
