Jeevadithvya J started this petition to Students of REVA UNIVERSITY

1. The students are travelling from different places all the students are not in hostel such that they will be in a single location and their history could be tracked. Where they went, whom they met? Nobody can assure something about someone outside the campus.
2. How can the campus in which there are thousands of people coming from different locations be as safe as the home?
3. A huge chunk of the students is from other states including North Indian States which are more than 1000's of Kms away. Who will take guarantee that in this travel of multiple days they are not the carriers and they are not infected?
4. For online classes you have mentioned that the students should come to college either by private vehicle or by Reva bus. More than 50% of the students in Reva University comes by BMTC busses, and I don't think I need to tell you about the condition of crowd in the Busses.
5. The University is located in outskirts of the city and only 10% of the students lie in the 5 KM radius. Even if the students are in the same city, they are travelling a decent distance to reach.
6. The students who are not day scholars also have accommodation issues, hostels, PG and other accommodations are not available for 20-25 days that is the duration of exams and moreover many of the buildings and societies are having mandatory quarantine if someone travels interstate, thus even after coming to the city they will be quarantined for multiple days and wont be able to attend the exams.
7. For the students who used to live in shared accommodations, even cooks are not being allowed in the premises to avoid contact with multiple people, should they be focusing on studies or on cooking.
8. You said that the college is safe and you are also staying in the university, Sir, the university is safe now because students are not there. How will the university be safe when we will have thousands of students in campus coming from different places?
9. Who will take the responsibility of the student's health if they are tested positive later on?
10. What is the sudden need to conduct the examinations offline when you have the facility of online examinations and you have experience as well? You conducted online examination when the entire country was wondering how to tackle this situation and now when it's the test of patience you are backing out.
11. Even if one single kid is carrying the virus then there is possibility of a chain reaction.
12. According to the Govt. of Karnataka they have allowed the colleges to reopen based on the consent of the parents and students, you have the data and so do we, parents are not ready to send the kids to college.
13. I agree that Reva has taken Precautions and there are preventive measures as well, but having a life insurance does not mean we will put our lives to risk.
There is a complete boycott by the students as well as the parents, of the kids studying in Reva University. The decision taken by you is not in the favour of anyone's health and safety and as you said you care about the students. We request you to do the same. This was not a decision, this thing was imposed on the students and made mandatory, which violates the guidelines of Govt. of Karnataka. Students oppose this decision and will not pay exam fees until and unless the decision of Nlandatory offline exams is reverted.
Hope, you will understand the situation well and take the steps accordingly.
