Since the beginning of the 2021-22 school year, the 8th grade PE class has been focused much less on physical activity since the arrival of new curriculum and a new gym teacher. The curriculum now forces students to work inside on projects researching traits of good athletes, while not doing anything active themselves even though an entire gym sits empty. Under this regime, the sole exercise done by students is several laps of walking, but only on the days that exercises are permitted. And this can be stopped. The curriculum isn't required by the state or the federal government unlike the other classes'. It is just a RECOMMENDATION by the county, and is not expected to be followed. Help stop this injustice and help the students become active once again. Let's bring the physical back to physical education.
