Statement of Purpose: The First Year Acting BFA Class is pushing for serious structural change within the Ithaca College Theatre Arts Department, specifically in regards to the treatment of BFA Acting Majors. Such change includes amending the curriculum and putting an end to the stigma that the BFA Acting program is held in lower regard than the BFA Musical Theatre program. Eventually, this petition will be presented to Dillingham faculty These qualms are based off of the class of 2023’s personal experiences this semester and do not necessarily reflect the views of other past and current majors and classes.Therefore, if you are not an 2023 Acting major and have any additional grievances, personal experiences, or solutions you would like to add, please email cbest@ithaca.edu .
