Please sign the pledge to show YOUR commitment to stopping and preventing cyberbullying
0 have signed. Let’s get to 1,000!
We, the students of Our Lady of Mercy College Beaumont, wish to show our commitment to the prevention and stopping of cyberbullying in all of its forms and we want all of the students, parents and teachers of Ireland to do the same.
Research shows that people who are persistently subjected to abusive behaviour are at risk of stress related illness which can sometimes lead to suicide. Also, the passive bystanders in any bullying situation may also risk suffering from anxiety, brought on by the shame and guilt of not intervening or defending a victim. It is hoped that our online pledge will change lives and may save lives.
We understand that we all have a responsibility; our pledge is for everyone, the victims, the bullies, the bystanders, the parents and the educators.
By signing this pledge you agree to the following:
I will take a stand against cyberbullying
I will think before I click
I will report all incidents of cyberbullying
I will not join in
I will support students who have been or are subjected to bullying
I will be a good role model for students
I will remember “Stop, Block and Tell” when I am targeted by a cyberbully
I will never retaliate
I will NEVER post pictures or videos of someone without their permission
I will NOT stand by, I will TAKE A STAND AGAINST BULLYING!
After signing please share the petition page in any forms of social media you may use to spread the message of support and commitment as widely as possible.
