Recently at Cherry Creek High School, there has been a new rule requiring students to wear an identification badge around their necks at all times. In the bathroom, in class, etc. When it was first suggested, it was no big deal, but the faculty and staff lost sight of why they wanted to implement this rule in the first place. Now, students are being grabbed by staff members and shoved around, and even been given out of school suspensions because they may have forgotten their ID. They take your cell phone and call home if you aren’t wearing your ID, and many will follow you around campus just to tell you to put it on. While this was a good idea from the start, the enforcement of this rule has gone too far and many students are outraged about this issue, and we as a student body believe ID’s should no longer be a requirement.
