SWEEP is meant to be a punishment for students being late to their first period. By missing a small amount of your first period for reasons like traffic, emergencies, or simply being slightly delayed in the morning, the punishment in place takes the entire class period away from you. It takes away your right to be on your phone, electronic device, or to do classwork with the time that is being taken from you. SWEEP is a pointless punishment that's supposedly meant to teach students responsibility. Instead, it brings students stress, anxiety, and takes away from time you could be using to learn. Help me get rid of SWEEP and make Catalina Foothills Highschool a more productive, less anxious environment for all students.
