The dress code of calvert county has had many issues and has been a very controversial topic for many years now. The dress code misogynistic and many people are on the same page as me. It’s unfair that women/young girls can’t wear what makes them comfortable. Tank tops aren’t allowed on hot days and we can’t wear shorts that are labeled as “too short” when they don’t show anything. Instead of monitoring the way women dress, explain to the boys that it’s not okay to sexuality us. The dress code reached young minds to get used to girls being told what to do with their bodies. I understand that is unprofessional to wear tank tops and short shorts, but it’s school and we deserve to feel comfortable with what we are wearing especially when this is where most of our socializing happens. Teens struggle with self esteem as it is and for the women it can be even worse because of the consistently flux hating hormones. If it means anything to the person reading this or anyone else, support this change, help be apart of solving an ongoing problem in our school system. let’s make a change. - kaylin wells
