As a student at Blaine High school, I would like the option to consume my lunch, inside the safety of my OWN vehicle. As students, we are not provided with the appropriate seating, outdoors to eat our lunch, unless you would like to enjoy your meal, on the ground. Or in a crowded area, unmasked. We need to keep our selves safe. The Blaine school district has the fourth highest COVID-19 case rate in Whatcom County, at 487 cases per 100,000 people. COVID-19 case rates increase in every school district….. except meridian. Blaine school district, has had 49 confirmed cases, as of last week.. according to the health department. Please sign, to encourage the Blaine school district administration, to either provide appropriate seating, outdoors.. or to be able to have the ability to eat our lunch, within the closed doors of our own vehicles. This petition is NOT in favor of leaving, the closed campus, but to keep blaines students healthy. I would like to thank the school district, in keeping their students safe, we are all learning how to navigate through this pandemic. Please consider an outside eating option, thank you.
