, myself and a very large group of app state students are very disappointed at the move in delay. Not only do other schools with higher covid rates get to move in without delay, but get to continue classes as planned before. If we return to campus with a negative covid test, i am confused as to why this is being delayed. We are very inconvenienced by the short notice of this information, as some people had cancelled vacations and family events. We had some of the lowest covid rates at appalachian state and i think that would continue with us all showing up with a negative covid test. Very dissapointing. If some students are not comfortable, they have the option to not come. but for the ones who are comfortable, it is very discouraging. Some of us have even paid for covid tests already, which is very inconvenient. Some out of state students have payed for plane tickets already. We are also disappointed that we are paying for housing and not able to live in the dorms, and our meal plan money is being wasted during this time.
