Mass appeal for online examination in kendriya vidyalaya ahmedabad region.
Why this petition matters
Many city schools affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) appear to be changing their decision to hold in-person final exams for the primary and secondary sections, and now intend to hold the tests online.
The change in their decision is mainly due to the recent increase in Covid-19 cases and the gradual withdrawal of consent that schools had received from parents. Many parents who had earlier agreed to send their children to schools to take the examinations physically are now opting for the online test.
- This is also because of the guidelines that ask schools to give parents the option to choose the mode of exams for their children.
- CBSE Class 9, 11 2021 final examinations directive has not been shared by the board or the government. In a poll conducted, 73% of respondents voted for online exam as compared to 11% for offline.
- As many as 1,70,262 replies were received by Times Now on the poll published last Thursday. At the end of receiving the responses, as many as 73.49% respondents had opted for online examinations in comparison to a small 11.43% respondents who favoured offline exams
So here it is clearly stated that the parents of students are given this option for the mode of exam but in our school there was nothing like above stated.
We were handed with an NOC where we weren't asked for any such kind of permission. So it is clear that a central governed school is not following the guidelines given by education ministry. Which is clear violation of our rights.
NOC is something which is taken when a person has any kind of choice but here clearly we don't have any of such. They are forcing this on us and what if we catch Covid , who will be responsible for it. Certainly not the school authorities, our point is that students and their parents should have this right to choose in our school too.
