Why isn't there an option in Zoom to put our pronouns so that those who get misgendered EVERY DAY aren't misgendered by their professors and colleagues for any reason other than complete ignorance.

Students have a range of pronouns, and so do some professors in today's day and age. Sometimes it is hard for students to speak up when they are misgendered and if there was an option to put the pronouns either with your name, or even a bar under the name showing pronouns then maybe it will be easier for those students who feel uncomfortable speaking out about their pronouns.

I started this petition because it's been a few semesters that we have had online classes, and maybe it won't matter next semester or next year- but if we have the option to be more inclusive and help support those who don't identify with their sex they were assigned at birth, and choose to identify with a gender that is different from what they were assigned at birth. It's not even just being inclusive, it's showing that we respect those students who choose to identify differently!

As Sabra L. Katz-Wise, PhD,  says, "Using a person’s correct pronouns is an important sign of respect," Then I don't see it coming from Zoom's platform as the Go-To Online class service.
