As of a couple of years ago, the backpack defense was made to help students explain why they are ready to exit high school. Due to Covid-19, recording became an option of presenting the backpack since we could not do it in person. Now that we are back in person, My friend trinity and I were told recording may no longer be an option and we wanted to change that. 

Many students suffer from anxiety  and struggle to physically present in front of an audience. While it is important that we strengthen our social skills, it’s also important to provide students with a safe and comfortable environment. We believe recording our backpack defenses should be an option this year. There are many students, myself included, that would be able to present their backpack more efficiently if we were given the option to record and submit it. 

in person defenses would still be a thing, recordings would just be an extra option.
