Keep Mark Cousineau in Menominee Schools

Students, parents, teachers, and community members around Menominee are in anger over the reassignment of our engineering instructor, Mark Cousineau. He was told Wednesday that he would be forced to go to Stephenson High School for the first five hours of their school day to teach a wood shop class. This leaves the Menominee Welding and Engineering kids with a new instructor who has no experience in the classroom or relationship with the students at Menominee High.
Mark has been a Menominee High School employee for four years, and has developed a strong bond with students taking his class. One student, Colton Monroe, who has had Mark since his first year, thinks, “Mr. Cousineau is an amazing individual with personal bonds and takes his time to learn about what each student is interested in. He is qualified to teach this class. I took this class because I wanted to expand my engineering abilities underneath the instruction of Mr. Cousineau. I have learned so much from him as a worker and as an individual, changing teachers at the semester break will stress students out more and a new teacher would bring a new teaching style, one that students aren't comfortable with. If Cousineau leaves, a vast majority of kids plan to drop this course.”
Please sign the petition and share it, us students would really appreciate it. We are the future of our communities industrial workforce, without our teacher, we cannot learn the trades in a correct and comfortable manner.
