We the students residing in Campus Africa would like to oppose the decision by management to vacate the buildings by the coming weekend (20 March-22 March). This decision is unfair to students who are financially vulnerable and can’t up leave, trips back home require for financial decisions to be made months in advance.
We as the students are willing to self quarantine in our rooms and strictly avoid all social spaces like the gym and chill areas, we accept the decision by the building to not allow any visitors until further notice. Migrating students from one place to another poses a high risk for the virus to spread further to those currently unaffected at home, as students will be potentially using public transport to do so. It’s safer for everyone to quarantine where they are.
