Students that commute to campus are often having to drive long distances in order to attend their classes. These students are faced with two options: pay $100+ for a parking permit that allows parking across the I35, pay the $2/hour fee for street parking, or worse, pay the $30/day fee in the campus parking garages. Students already face the high cost of tuition and living in Austin. It is unfair to charge them so much to simply park their cars on campus to attend the classes they area already paying for.
