Students for the Resignation of President Knapp

Students for the Resignation of President Knapp
Knapp became president of this school in 2017. Since then the campus spirit, mental health, attendance, motivation, and sense of community have all dropped among the student body. CPS hired officers who are now being investigated for federal police brutality charges and another officer who was bragging about killing an African American Teenager in his last position.
Knapp has targeted Greek Life, something that once had 70% of the student body involved. Which removes the social fabric this school was build upon. Not to mention many of our alumni were in Greek life and might not support the school further after their alma matter house is closed. If campus goes dry like Knapp would want it would only encourage more students to go off campus to drink where they are at greater risk of harm and aren’t able to access CPS resources as easily.
Knapp has also facilitated multiple hirings of administrative roles whose purpose is still unknown to those who hold them even a year after being hired.
Our last president literally embezzled money and the school was more successful finance wise, preparing to make the Ivy push and students were actually happy to be here.
While we recognize the fact Knapp was hired based on the decisions of the board of trustees we feel as a student body we have a responsibility not only to ourselves but future W&J students to make these grievances known so that they don’t have to struggle through 4 years. We ask this not out of hatred but a sense of hopelessness, dread, and unorganization that permeates everything on this campus.
