Tell Michelle Rhee to stop paying lip service to anti-bullying efforts

Michelle Rhee has been criticized for claiming to support strong anti-bullying legislation to protect LGBT students, while at the same time she donated $73,000 to a very anti-gay Michigan State Representative. She now has a chance to convince that state representative to help stop a bill that would legalize bullying.
The Michigan House of Representatives is getting ready to vote on a GOP bullying bill that will make it legal for people to bully. The bill specifically allows for bullying if the bully has religious or moral reasons. Democratic State Senator Gretchen Whitmer slammed the bill saying it “explicity outlines how to get away with bullying.” She also said, "As passed today, bullying kids is okay if a student, parent, teacher or school employee can come up with a moral or religious reason for doing it."
This is outrageous. We need actually anti-bullying protections, not laws that give a blueprint for how to get away with bullying.
Michelle Rhee should stand by her words and tell Michigan State Rep. Paul Scott, to whom she donated $73,000 last week, that this is ridiculous. She actually use her power and influence in the state to help LGBT students. Rep. Scott is the chair of the Education committee in the Michigan State House. The bill will have to go through his committee and he has the power to stop it.
