Fair Standardized Testing

Being a high school student myself, I've come to realize standardized testing does not test what you have learned, it tests how well you memorized the material. As soon as the test has been completed students often forget what they have "learned" from memorization. I believe changing the education curriculum to allowing a one page cheat sheet by choice of the student, for all tests regardless of grade, level of class, or whether you're in elementary school, high school, or post secondary is a reasonable way of testing. Creating a cheat sheet is a greater way of learning the material than memorizing information. I also believe exams should become optional if you have a reasonably high grade, to prevent your mark from dropping.
