I am in 8th grader in Orange County VA and I think our dress code is very unfair and boys and girls should be able to wear what they want without it being considered a distraction. It is targeted toward mostly young women who express themselves through there clothing. Things I would like to change are midriff (stomach/torso showing), finger tip shorts, leggings, clothes should be allowed to have rips, and much much more. Our dress code states, "Clothing that is too tight, revealing, or causes disruption is inappropriate" that is extremely inappropriate to me. I want to change this because what I wear shouldn't be labeled a distraction.
