Did you know that the average Australia is said to produce 1.5 tonnes of waste each year? The production of food packaging is an ecological concern due to its mass impact on the environment. It is responsible for soil degradation, water, solid waste and toxic chemical pollution as well as the reduction of scarce natural resources. In an effort to take action on this issue, introducing recycling bins at St Mary's College would help to reduce the amount of waste we produce as a school community that is contributing to landfill and causing numerous environmental impacts.
