say less bahaha started this petition to Students

As everyone knows, the quarantine has kept us all from going to school. The quarantine has affected our social well being (Hauora) meaning we don't get to see our friends or interact with others. Regarding our online schooling, us students have come to the consensus that the amount of homework we are getting is unreasonable considering our situation and in any other situation. The workload is daily with a new task set for us every day for every subject. It doesn't help that many students are very used to classroom style teaching where they can ask the teacher for help, however, for online education, the students find it somewhat intimidating to send an email to ask about the work. Also, we are expected to stay in good physical shape during this quarantine and the overload of work doesn't help. We want to have a good social well being, but the overload of work doesn't help. During a worldwide pandemic where Wifi can be unreliable, where we are expected to stay healthy and fit and stay in touch with friends, we have to spend half the day on our laptops slaving away on Microsoft word. Lastly, there's no motivation to learn. A huge reason why some schools are seeing a decrease in interest has a lot to do with motivation and commitment. At school, normally their would be teachers monitoring us, or we'd look forward to seeing your friends at school or even a extra curricular activity such as band, choir etc. But online school gets rid of that, so not only are students unmotivated, but teachers are also cramming them with homework. I doubt this has a positive affect on a students well being not only during the quarantine but for the rest of the year. In conclusion, by signing this petition, you can help get the load of students' backs and nurture their well being during an urgent time like this.
