Why this petition matters
Among the most common kinds of sexual violence against women is, street harassment. Catcalling, unwelcome words, motions, whistles, and unwanted lewd comments from random people in a public spot are all examples of sexual harassment. Whether girls and women are subjected to harassing in their everyday lives, such as while jogging/running or shopping for groceries to visit family and friends, it drags them backward. To escape it, numerous people shift to different clothes or take other paths to the workplace. This is unacceptably bad. Neither women nor youngsters should indeed be terrified in their own city's streets.
Whenever someone whistles, screams, or expresses sexual remarks to another person as they pass by, this is known as catcalling. Women are frequently the ones who are forced to deal with this absurd situation. It's an issue since women become a bit scared whenever they decide to get dolled up since they don't want to be bothered.
I am confident that not everyone, if anyone, can handle this position. That is why I am here: to spread the word, to raise awareness, and to stand in solidarity with those who, for the time being, are unable to do so.
I'd like to see a change, and I'm hoping that one day, practically everyone walking down the street would be respected, and they will be able to stroll freely and fearlessly, no matter who they are.
