In the school policy "extreme" hair color such as bright blue or pink is not permitted. It is placed into the specific guidelines that include wearing a blazer, tie, hats and jewelry. This gives the impression that hair is more so an object but in reality it is a part of our body and who we are.

The school council wants to have a very high control over the appearance of students to help further the college image. Through physical presentation the school council is spending more attention on a handful of students with colored hair although colors such as ash grey and silver mixed with faded unnatural colors are permitted.

Students' education is pushed out of the arguments for the school council and administrators whose only argument seems to be the school policy and presentation. The school largely advertises they care about well-being of students and the diversity and differences and being able to express yourselves.

Students are threatened by the assistant principles and warned by student coordinators that they will be forcefully sent home, suspended and then expelled. the year level of the student is not taken into account. (reasons to include year level is the severity of work for a year 8 student compared to a year 12 student.)  These factors are wiped aside when talking with the school council.

If it’s okay to express your sexuality it should be okay for hard working students to simply express themselves through dyeing their hair. Just because students have bright hair doesn’t mean they are rebellious and rude, etc. The school should encourage students to strip away from negative stereotypes not continue the cycle.
