Wouldn’t it be nice to have an entire day at school to just read? Relax in class with your favorite book? Sure, not everyone likes to read in their free time, but I’m sure everyone would has a book or two they like. It would be fantastic if all Lowndes County Public Schools had a County wide reading day. If would give the teachers time to work on their lesson plans, and give students time to take a breath. Plus, it’s still educational. Studies have shown that reading helps lower stress and depression, increases mental stimulation, and even makes readers more positive. So, I ask again, wouldn’t it be a good thing to have a County wide reading day? We don’t need to have it every week or even every month, but once or twice out of the school year would be very beneficial, to students, and teachers.
