Online classes have a dark side that many of us seem to be unaware of. Some of the problems are:Health issues such as Retinal damage, Weakening of the ciliary muscles, brain tumour, Depression due to isolation, myopia, etc.

Students are forced to stare at the monitor for hours together which prevents them from blinking on an average of 15 times per minute; blinking is essential for redistribution of moisture, that leads to blurred vision. Adding to that one looses socializing skills that ultimately results in an an individual developing anxiety to deal with human beings as they are lacking time spent with "physical people".

Students and teachers are Burdened way too much because of these online classes; We have to admit that subjects like Maths, Accountancy, Physics etc need a teacher to be physically present and cannot be replaced by virtual classes. The child is burdened to learn by himself, Why do parents send their children to school, So the child can sit in a corner and learn by himself, teach himself???

Parents pay fees and admit their child in school for a healthy development of the child, Does online class contribute to that?? Well it does not contribute to that, neither have schools reduced their fee structure. It sometimes takes an arm and even a leg to pay school fees and you expect Unemployed parents in times of crisis to pay school fee for online classes when there are some starving to death?

Online classes require a high speed internet, on an android phone, and most importantly a peaceful and calm environment which is absent in many cases. Do you think it is a joke for rural areas to adopt such means of learning??? Children use their parents phone and schools cannot expect working parents to be joblessly sitting at home and give away their phones to their child. Moreover inspite of parents getting their child all the required devices for online classes, The child still faces Technical  failures, in other words - network issues... Half of the online class goes like:"SIR I CANNOT HEAR!","MA'AM WE CANNOT SEE YOU OR THE BOARD". By the time the child can hear and see, the sum might be over  or even the class might be over. In some cases, even teachers fail to be diplomatic with the child, When he or she tries to explain his or her problems at home or why he or she cant remain or be an active member of the online class.

Alternatives

  1. Reopening of schools with safety measures: Wearing masks, Checking of temperature's and sanitizing of hands, Two people in a bench etc...
  2. Schools can reopen with two sessions. A: morning session B: afternoon to evening session, which will be favourable for social distancing.
  3. 50% population
  4. Boarders should be given admissions in nearby schools, Let this academic year have no boarding facility.

6.In case there are no nearby schools in rural areas, Government buildings can be converted into classrooms.

As a conclusion we request you to not make it a zero year, because we cannot afford to lose one year of our lifetime, if the alternatives cannot be followed,  kindly reduce the syllabus as much as possible and most importantly let us know what has been reduced.
