Make UNT EarthFest Vegan

Every year the University of North Texas hosts an Earth Day event called EarthFest. This year's event will be held on April 19th. EarthFest claims to be a "sustainable event," however animal flesh (meat) and excretions (milk) are served at the event despite the known environmental impact these products cause. There is ample evidence that animal product consumption is detrimental to the environment. Two short videos and one peer reviewed study are linked below. Due to this known link between animal products and environmental destruction and greenhouse gas emissions, we propose that EarthFest be made an all vegan event, and veganism be proposed as a way to live a greener life. We have attempted to make this event vegan by emailing the organizers. Last year our request was denied and this year we have not even received a response. We hope that this petition will show the organizers the importance of using a vegan diet to fight climate change.
