I have been asked to set this petition up for a family member.
Mandy is my 40 yr old cousin in Rochester, NY and has been battling with physical and overall health problems the last 6 to 8 months. Due to the pandemic, health appointments, and overall medical care for many people has not been as good as it once was. Patients with health issues that seem to be doing "okay" have been pushed aside to make way for those who seem to be dealing with worse. Oct 2020, Mandy's face became "swollen" and doctors claimed that it was her anxiety medication doing it due to a side effect. Fast forward to the end of March, early April and Mandy was hospitalized the 1st time due to no feeling in her legs, she was having trouble walking, standing, and when there was relief there was nothing but pain. (Doctors diagnosed this as neuropathy and said that she needed to follow up with a PCP and gave her a prescription to ease the symptoms and this did not help ). There was nothing abnormal on tests or labs. Fast forward a couple weeks and Mandy was then hospitalized again at a different hospital. This time around they decided that the medication that was given to Mandy was causing addiction and they had no choice but to detox her. With the lab work and tests they did, it was found that her liver had some scar tissue but was repairing itself, they decided to try and new medication on her for her leg pain and then told her to follow up with her PCP again.  Nothing at all had improved and only worsened. The PCP couldn't find anything and after doing all of the things she was informed to do,  Mandy is now currently in the ICU where she needs to be closely monitored due to all of the issues going on. Currently she is dealing with an enlarged gallbladder, pneumonia, cirrhosis of the liver which has caused jaundice, leg pain, and unable to pass a BM for the past 3 weeks even after reaching out to her PCP when all options were exhausted. 
At this time, there are no definite answers but there are all kinds of questions. The family is asking for prayers. Mandy is only 40 years old and wants a fighting chance to live and see her only son graduate this year and live his life. The hospital currently will not place Mandy on the transplant list because this believe that she did this to her body intentionally and don't want to risk wasting a transplant. Mandy has never been an alcoholic,  she is only 40 years old and has such a long life ahead of her. Her only child, a 17 year old son, will be graduating this year and begs for signatures to allow Mandy to be a transplant recipient and be able go heal properly. Please sign this petition to give Mandy a voice.

The family is informed of changes on a regular basis in regards to Mandy and appreciates anything. Please keep her in your prayers, in your thoughts, and on your mind. Prior to these health issues, Mandy never smoked, was a causal drinker, and took care of herself.
