Strengthen Sex Education in the Philippines
According to the Population Commission (PopCom) in the Philippines, 24 babies are born to teenage mothers every hour, and almost 200,000 Filipino teenagers, mostly between the ages of 15 and 19, become pregnant each year. Popcom made a point of saying that Filipino teenagers who are exposed to vice or the internet at a young age are more likely to have unintended pregnancies and one of the major reason behind is lack of sex education, and that lack of sex education could lead to serious health issues and even poverty. as a 2nd year college student I can say that sex education in the Philippines are taken lightly, it's a serious problem that we should be focusing to lessen the probability of teenage pregnancy, sexual transmitted disease, and poverty.
