According to NJ.gov website:

Health and safety standards required for reopening pools include:

• Businesses can open at full capacity indoors and outdoors. Establishments do not need to limit occupancy to a number that ensures all individuals or groups can remain six feet apart.
• Under Executive Order No. 242, the State no longer requires face coverings for most indoor public spaces, however businesses may continue to require face coverings for employees, customers, and guests.
• If masks or gloves are required by employers, they must be provided to employees;
• Social distancing is not required, however businesses are encouraged to follow CDC safety guidelines and social distancing to save lives and prevent the spread of COVID-19.
• Face coverings should NOT be worn while in the water and/or put on children under age two or lifeguards on active duty - face coverings should NOT be allowed in the water due to increased risk of drowning.
• Require staff and patrons who are sick or have recently had a close contact with a person with COVID-19 to stay home.
• Discourage staff and patrons from sharing items that are difficult to clean, sanitize or disinfect or that are meant to come in contact with the face (e.g. goggles, snorkels, nose clips)
• Patrons are allowed to use their own water play equipment
• Facilities are not prohibited from renting equipment which does not come into contact with the face such as lifejackets, kickboards, etc. but must document a cleaning procedure which documents the frequency of cleaning and disinfecting.

In light of these guidelines, it is hard to understand why the association has decided to keep the pool closed. Our children have lost enough over the last 15 months. Now that NJ is reopening, there should be no reason to keep this from them.
