I'd like to start this petition for the  Community of Strathroy that involves the intersection of Caradoc street and High street. The reason for this petition is we as community feel that there is great safety concerns for pedestrians attempting to cross the intersection at Caradoc and high street. Pedestrians have great difficulty crossing this particular intersection, as drivers DO NOT stop to allow pedestrians to cross, even with the pedestrian crossing sign at this corner. Pedestrians must time their crossing precisely to avoid becoming stranded in the middle of the intersection, many of these pedestrians with young children making it extremely dangerous for all drivers and the pedestrians.

Adding a Pedestrain Crossover to this intersection would benefit pedestrians, drivers and businesses within close vicinity, as this provides equal and timely pedestrian and driving traffic. Some cities have already began to implement pedestrian crossovers, including St. Thomas and Oakville.
