We have been made aware that Yoshitha Rajapakse, son of deposed Prime Minister of Sri Lanka has allegedly travelled to Melbourne with illegal funds obtained from acts of corruption. Many prominent citizens of Sri Lanka and media are on record alleging that the source of funds transferred/to be transferred have been obtained through serious corruption linked to the misappropriation of public assets of Sri Lanka.

We as Australian Citizens are deeply concerned that allowing such funds into Australia could result in the proliferation of practices in our society.

We kindly request that the Federal Government of Australia to have this individual and any others linked to this corruption to be designated under the Autonomous Sanctions Amendment Regulations 2021 and intervene in the transfer of illegal funds to Australia.
