Stop world sex trade, now

Stop world sex trade, now

The Issue

The buying and selling of human beings, many for sexual slavery, is flourishing in many parts of the world.  Hundreds of thousands of men, women and children are annually seized to be used for and subject to years of forced sex, labor and abuse.  Many in Congress have denounced this trading in human beings.  Now it is time for Congress to pass stronger legislation to totally eliminate this inhumane traffic in the United States, and makes it clear that we will no longer stand for it anywhere in the world.  I urge Congress to enact legislation approving the United Nations Protocol to Prevent, Suppress and Punish Trafficking in Persons, especially Women and Children.  And I also urge Congress to call on the President to order immigration officials to question all immigrants to learn if they are, or have been, victims.
