Working lunch is awful for students and teachers. First of all, some teachers do not get to updating the assignments soon enough. We as students have to wait sometimes weeks for the grade to change. While waiting we have working lunch with nothing to be there for. Second of all, Teachers are wasting their lunch on students who are there for nothing and do nothing. Yes, I understand that some students want to get to work, but there are not a lot. Kids mess around instead of working which will just annoy teachers. Third, kids can not get to the things they need to do at lunch. They tell us to go to the bathroom at lunch, while we can't go because we are stuck in working lunch. Some might come along and say, "hey, what if they need working lunch?" Well you can still work at lunch, except it will be your responsibility. YOU ALWAYS HAVE THE CHOICE to work at lunch, and if you fall behind you can always fix it. In middle school, you need to learn responsibility to prepare for high school. If they have F's because of missing work that's their fault and they will get the consequences (like being held back) because of that. Well what if they have a tough home life and they have to do it at school?  You can do it at school. I agree lunch should be a time to relax, but if you are behind, lunch is the time to catch up. Also some teachers do redemption days, where kids can catch up without wasting their lunch. Help stop this awful barrier to our schools success.
