Another school on West Lilac? Another school within yards of Sullivan Middle and Bonsall High School? Another school that WE. WERE. NOT. INFORMED. OF? How many of my fellow Bonsall Community Member are aware that there is ANOTHER school vying to open on West Lilac 1/4 mile west of Sullivan Middle School and Bonsall High School? I personally was stunned when I heard the news. Perhaps you were aware? After all, they did send us flyers to attend an open house to preview their "little" enrichment center. Most of us, most likely, paid no heed.  Well, hold on to to your bloomers - this "little" enrichment center has been quietly, and I will say Q-U-I-E-T-L-Y encroaching on our community and  is currently in the process of building a large scale school with the potential to house - are you ready? Up to 1200 STUDENTS!  That is correct, this is not a typo - 1200 STUDENTS! 

So...let's do some math. Sullivan Middle and Bonsall High School currently have an enrollment of roughly 1000 students. This newly proposed school is within walking distance of Sullivan and Bonsall High School and will have the capabilities to house MORE and create EVEN. MORE. TRAFFIC and potential dire irreversible escape hazards, tax repercussions, and outrageous traffic conflicts for our small, quiet community! So, those of us who are members of the Bonsall Community, and who are already aware of both the traffic and potential disaster repercussions of yet more cars on West Lilac, WE MUST ACT. Are you willing to let another UNSOLICITED, UNNEEDED, PRIVATE ORGANIZATION back door our community? 

Willow Tree DOES NOT NEED Bonsall's approval to build. They are very far down the process already. "The building design includes Transitional Kindergarten/Kindergarten through Eighth Grade. The Project Site Location is 6893 West Lilac Road in the Bonsall Community Plan Area within Unincorporated San Diego County, CA 92003. Willow Tree is comprised of 9 buildings totaling 41,328 gross square feet. The building programs include: Administration (3,962 sf); Multi-Purpose (9,980 sf); 4 Classrooms for Grades 1-8 (3,962 sf each); 1 Kindergarten Classroom (3,614 sf); Aftercare and Science Classroom (3,962 sf); Music-Art-Dance Classroom (3,962 sf)"
