Turner Trace, LLC is requesting changes to their zoning commitments to allow for construction of a gas station/convenience store at the corner of South Avon Avenue and Governor’s Road (near the intersection of Avon Avenue and 150 South).

They have also asked to be allowed to put drive-thru restaurants, taverns, bars, or nightclubs in the area south of the restaurant, adjacent to 150 South.

These changes will lead to additional traffic on Governor’s Row and add to the traffic congestion already occurring on Avon Avenue during peak travel times. They could also potentially lower home values, increase traffic through the neighborhood, particularly at night, and add bright lights for a 24 x 7 gas station operation. No road improvements are planned as part of this proposal.

At their meeting on April 26, after hearing the objections of neighboring residents, the Avon Planning Commission continued the hearing on the proposal until their next meeting on May 23.
