 Ref : Reconstruction of the  Mortuary at St.  Georges hospital.

Facts of the case: 

This project was initiated by the undersigned sometime in 2017 when I had gone to collect the post mortem report of my chauffeur  and discovered that besides the postmortem being conducted by a class IV employee the so called morgue consisted of a broken down shed which had no door forget having any cooling facilities .

It had one fan and one bulb that was hanging.

Since then much has happened and with the assistance of Mr Rahul Narwekar , Mr. Makarand Narwekar, Ms. Harshita Narwekar the active members of CALM and My Dream Colaba along with the signature of 98600 signatories to my petition change.org/Mumbaimorgue ( you may go online and follow the trajectory of what all has happened since the year 2017.  The reconstruction of the new mortuary saw some light.

The status today:

The construction of the Ground floor is almost complete. (barring the area that is encroached) However, whether it can be put to use is a million dollar question as there is no electricity connection.   We have been informed that the estimate for the electrical work is pending for approval at the DMR office.

The design for the first floor had to be redone on account of the encroachment and is also pending approval at the DMR office.

I have made over the last three days almost twenty calls. Like the game of “Passing the Parcel“, I have been referred to various different persons and different numbers.

Some of the persons I have spoken to since the last three days are listed below:  Some had the courtesy to take my call, others did not.  Sent messages through whatsapp giving reference.  No one seems to be really inclined to take ownership of the project and desires its completion:

This letter is to request you to take stock of the current status and use your good offices to ensure that the project acquires the momentum it deserves.

It is already 6 years since we began this interaction perhaps you as the Dean might be able to intervene and use your good offices to propel it forward.
