I was struck on the back of my head with a glass bottle on Saturday night. I was lucky, I am so sorry that Joe was not. My thoughts go out to all of you.

Innocent people need to stop dying for the expense of others unable to handle their drink on nights out

My sister was glassed by a bloke in a pub back in the early 90's. She had done nothing to him. He was caught thanks to the bouncers who chased him through the city centre.

Joe was full of life and deserved to enjoy many more nights out with his girlfriend, friends and family. His life being stolen in such a needless manner is heartbreaking. Plastic or not, he should not have been hit over the head with a force so hard it did this to him, but had the bottle been plastic we may well have been reading a different story.
