The Rugby Football League and American company IMG in collaboration with Rugby League Clubs have set out plans to radicalise the game by canceling promotion and relegation to and from the Superleague. 

They intend to do this without the support of the paying spectator by categorising clubs into a grading system for entry.

Have they even consulted supporters or are they playing God with The Greatest Game?

Ending promotion and relegation goes completely against fair play in sport and turns the competition into a cartel in a similar way Football tried to create a so called Football Superleague.

Promotion and relegation is paramount for competition in sport and taking this away will turn the sport into a game for the elite.

It will both destroy attendances and bankrupt clubs who cannot gain promotion due to a category they’ve been put in and end competition for those in the lower echelons of a season table.
