Petitioning ALL VOTERS TIRED OF GRIDLOCK ALL NOVEMBER 6th VOTERS

STOP the robots in Congress! Pledge against the Pledge!

52% of Congress (279 of the 535 House and Senate lawmakers) have signed a pledge to an unelected lobbyist, Grover Norquist, to automatically vote NO on any legislation that might raise taxes. An additional 285 candidates running for Congress have signed the same pledge.

They will vote without discussion. Without exploring options. Without regard to deficits, defense, the elderly, protecting and educating our children, women's health issues or the poor. Just an unthinking NO to problem solving, NO to compromise, and YES to GRIDLOCK.

How can we dig ourselves out of the biggest hole we've been in in 80 years if 52% of our Congressional leaders keep kicking dirt back in the hole?

THESE PLEDGE-ROBOTS DO NOT REPRESENT YOU. More than 60 percent of Americans, and now the Chief Executives of more than 80 of our largest corporations, support some form of tax increase as part of a budget solution. And they’re right! Almost all serious budget analysts – including Republicans, Independents and Democrats – say the same thing.

MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD! SIGN OUR PEOPLE'S PLEDGE, DECLARING THAT YOU WILL VOTE AGAINST ANY CANDIDATE WHO HAS SIGNED THE NORQUIST PLEDGE.

The stakes are huge. Immediately after the election, Congress will face wrenching decisions on how to reduce our trillion-dollar deficits without wrecking the economy, sacrificing our future, or ruining the lives of vulnerable citizens.

There are solutions -- but not if half our elected representatives blindly follow a simplistic pledge to an unelected lobbyist.

Contact your friends and family via Facebook, Email, Twitter, etc. and ask them to visit this site and add their signatures.

THE PEOPLE’S PLEDGE
I pledge not to vote for any Congressional candidate who has abdicated his or her decision-making responsibilities by signing a pledge against any and all tax increases, without regard to deficits, defense, the elderly, our children, the poor, women's health or common sense.
